I have been back home from BlogPaws, the preeminent conference for pet bloggers and enthusiasts, for a few days. I am still on a high, though. Not only did I have fun at the conference creating digital pet portraits for conference participants, I met some of the most wonderful pets and pet people ever!

Creating 40 digital pet portraits (which actually turned out to be 43) in such a short amount of time was not all that difficult, however, the logistics of keeping track of which portrait went to which person was a bit of a challenge. Resizing them for web use has been another challenge. Nonetheless, I managed to get it done, and I am thrilled with the result. You can see all of the portraits in the slideshow below.

I want to thank BlogPaws for bringing me to the conference to create the portraits. I am proud to say that I have been to every single one of the BlogPaws conferences, and I am very grateful for the relationship that we have built over the years. We are already looking to 2015 to do another fun and creative activity in Nashville, TN!

Digital Pet Portraits are quite popular, and despite being technologically created, they are each very unique. I use a variety of ipad apps and filters with each image to layer in a depth of color and texture. these add to the personality of the animal to create a very special artwork. They are also more economical for people who are budget conscious. I am also offering an option where I will send you the digital file where you can do the printing yourself! Here they are: The BlogPaws 40!

Who wants a PAWtrait?

I am in sunny Las Vegas at the annual BlogPaws conference, and I have a really fun job this year. Throughout the conference, I will be creating Contemporary Custom Digital Pet Portraits for 40 lucky conference participants!

Are you at BlogPaws? if so, register for the random drawing and you maybe chosen to receive a BZTAT PAWtrait of your pet! If your pet is with you at the conference, I will take a photo to use for the portrait. If you left your pet at home, that is OK. As long as you have a suitable electronic image that I can use, you can also have a PAWtrait!

Visit the BlogPaws booth in the Exhibition Hall to register. You must be present as a BlogPaws participant to be eligible.

I look forward to creating a PAWtrait for you!

My Annual Sojourn to BlogPaws

Every year, I make at least one trip far away from home. That trip is to whatever location in the country the BlogPaws Conference has found itself.

This year that location was Tysons Corner, VA, the same location from 2011 where we happened to be when Hurricane Irene rolled through.

No hurricanes came through this time, thank goodness, although there was plenty of reminiscing about the craziness of that year’s event.

I go to BlogPaws for a number of reasons. I meet new people who help me spread my network and potential customer base for my pet themed artwork. I learn new things about blogging and social media. I get SEO and other tech questions answered.

But mostly, I have more fun than any other time of the year with some of the greatest people (and pets) EVER!

Besties!

I have fun with these same people every day, but it is in the virtual world of social media, as they all live far away from me. When we can get together in real life, we try to pack as much fun as we can into every minute, because the conference only lasts 3 days.

For past conferences, I went with responsibilities: In Columbus (2010), I was part of the organizing team and coordinated an art auction; in Denver (2010), I created a Dialogues Mural that was a centerpiece for the conference;  in 2011, I presented with Miah Thornton about Okey’s Promise: Art for a Cause; and in 2012, I was sponsored by Temptations and represented their brand.

This year, however, I won second place in a photo caption contest, meaning that BlogPaws covered my registration and room, and my friends at Embrace Pet Insurance covered my travel. Thanks BlogPaws and Embrace!

With no responsibilities, I was able to simply learn, network, and have fun. And that I did!

I spent lots of time with feline, canine and human friends, and I also made a few helpful networking connections along the way.

It all ended too soon. But…

I look forward to guest posting for some great blog sites in the future. I look forward to joining the Cat Writers’ Association. I look forward to creating artworks for new friends. And I look forward to many other opportunities that are likely to arise in the future.

Oh yeah. And I am already making plans for next year’s BlogPaws Conference. Are you? 🙂
