People say don’t live in the past, live each day like its your last, but you should try it in reverse, live each day like its your first.

Chorus: I believe this is precious time, I believe you are one of a kind.

You run along with no fear in your heart, you play your song on your pink guitar, and all the joy thats in your eyes, reminds us of whats good in life.

So lets take a lesson on happiness from those who live their days in the simplest ways.

"Guitar" digital art by BZTAT

“Guitar” digital art by BZTAT

I believe that the guitar is one of the most beautiful creations – it resonates in my soul with a musical as well as visual aesthetic.

I love guitar music, whether it is the subtle and soft tones of a new age artist or the raunchy and loud chords from a grunge or hard rock musician.

My favorite guitarist, however, and perhaps my favorite musician of all time, is William Ackerman. His “Bricklayer’s Beautiful Daughter” is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.

Sadly, my love of the guitar has not translated into any talent for the instrument. I tried. I only learned from my attempts at guitar lessons to appreciate those who have a true gift for the instrument. My gifts lie elsewhere.

Where do your gifts lie?

"Singin' in the City" Doodle Drawing by BZTAT

This is a classic BZTAT doodle. When I am in a boring meeting or conference, I like to draw silly little doodles like this, with stick people, hearts and buildings, richly patterned across as much paper as I can fill up. I usually do not doodle in color, but hey, it is so much more fun to do so. Since today is First Friday in the Canton Arts District, I thought I would kind of make it a musical fun fest!

This drawing is a doodle, which is, according to Wikipedia, “an unfocused drawing made while a person’s attention is otherwise occupied. Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be abstract shapes.” My doodles often have some focus to them, but they are less formal than a regular drawing. Sometimes the images are somewhat cartoonish and sometimes they are just scribbles and line formations.

For each day from Dec. 1 – 15 (2011) I will make a December Doodle drawing and hold an auction for it here on the blog. These drawings will make nice gifts, and if you want, I will gift wrap and mail to whomever you would like the gift(s) to go. And since animals always are in greater need as winter takes hold, I will donate 10% of the proceeds to a registered animal charity.

Which charity? You help me decide! Post the charity that you would like me to support on my Facebook Fanpage, and I will randomly select from all the submissions on Dec. 15, 2011. (Charities must be for animal rescue, in the United States, and must have a 501(c) non-profit status.)

If you would like to bid on this drawing, simply place your bid in the comments below. Bids will be accepted until 10pm ET on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011.
