Cats and Art and other schtuff. Yeah, there are a few other things in the world…

Black Cat in the City Painting and Assemblage by Artist BZTAT
“Black Cat in the City” Painting/Assemblage by BZTAT

The image to the right is a painting/assemblage that I created recently. It was a bit of an experimental piece. I found the 3-dimensional cat at a store that sells cheap mass produced items and it inspired me to build a painting around it. Although it was inexpensive, it was solid wood, so I felt it was a good item for assemblage art.

I changed the color, texture and design of the cat to ensure that I was not stealing a licensed idea, and then I turned it into a creation of my own.

I put it on a piece of board that I had hanging around and painted a city skyline behind it. Cats in the city is a theme that I enjoy, and I hope you do too. As an avid Trap-Neuter-Return advocate and volunteer, I have a high regard for cats who make the city streets their home.

I recently posted the painting in my Art for Sale Gallery. I brought the price down on it from what I would typically sell a piece this size, as it is very heavy, and will require higher shipping costs. Please let me know if you have an interest in it.

I also posted the image in my recent Buzz from BZTAT! newsletter along with some other interesting news and tidbits. I would love it if you signed up for my newsletter, as that is the best way for me to share what’s new with people who enjoy my art. Regardless of whether or not you have an interest in purchasing anything, my newsletters put a little color in your inbox now and then, and who doesn’t need a little bit of that?

The Story of Sweet Pea

Sweet Pea was a very special cat.

She lived most of her life in a parking lot, but she was greatly loved by her “Parking Lot Mommies” who tended to her needs and to those of the other cats who lived with her.

In recent months, her caretakers decided it was time for Sweet Pea to give indoor living a go. She adapted amazingly well, and she became the “Third Cat” of Dorian Wagner who writes the famed Your Daily Cute blog. That was no small thing.

New Schtuff: A Video, The Buzz From BZTAT! Newsletter, and a New Facebook Fan Page

BZTAT Studios Art Promo Spot from Concept2Motion, LLC on Vimeo.

The video above was shot by Concept2Motion, LLC at my studio a few weeks ago. I am so thrilled with their work! Please feel free to share and embed it wherever you like.

I am very grateful to those who follow my creative adventures, and I want to have as much opportunity as I can to engage in dialogs with them. For me, that engagement enhances and inspires my creativity as much as anything does. I have been very busy developing some new ways to communicate with the people who enjoy my artwork, and I hope that you will take advantage of them.

If you are not already on my mailing list and would like to get my new The Buzz From BZTAT! newsletter, please sign up in the box to the right. I plan to update the newsletter with recent artworks, special promotions, and news about what is happening in the studio.

I also am developing a new fan page on Facebook. I have had a fan page for awhile, however, it used the name “BZTAT of Art Adventures Studios”. I need to change to a new one to reflect the change of my studio’s name to BZTAT Studios from the old Art Adventures Studios.

Facebook, for some strange reason, won’t let you change a fan page’s name, so when you change your name, you have to create a whole new page. To avoid future changes, I am simply calling my new page Artist BZTAT.  I hope that you will “like” it and follow my activities through posts there. If you follow me on the old page, please follow the new one, as I will phase the old one out soon.

As always, you can still keep up with me on Twitter as well!

I hope you like these new offerings. Give me a shout out and let me know what you think.
