Scottie Schnauzee painting–let's try a mini auction.

Scottie Schanazee
"Sneaking in the Grass" by BZTAT

UPDATE: Due to website problems, this auction has been extended to Monday 12/20/10. Finals bids will end at 10pm EST. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Recently, I have done 2 Paint a thons where I created several paintings in a designated time frame and then auctioned all the paintings together in one fell swoop. I have done similar events before, and people seem to enjoy them every time I do them. It seems like an effective way to sell artwork and appeal to my collectors in a fun sort of way.

I can’t do paint a thons every week, but I am adapting a bit to this sale model that seems to be working for me.

So just for kicks, I am going to auction the above painting alone to see how well it works one painting at a time. The process is the same. Just leave your bids in the comments below.

What do you think of auctioning off one painting at a time? Do you like it? Do you want to see more? Any certain subjects you’d like to see me paint? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Here is the info:

What? Again? Another Paint-a-thon?

Artist BZTAT

I know, I just did a paint-a-thon. I haven’t even gotten those paintings in the mail yet, because the weather has prevented me from varnishing them.

The Paint-a-thons have been so fun and popular, though, I decided to do another one for the holidays. This one won’t be for 24 hours. I think 12 hours is long enough.

So here’s the plan.

  1. I will paint as many paintings as I can between 10 AM to 10 PM (EST) on Thursday, Dec. 9.  All of the paintings will be posted for auction here on my website the following day (Friday, Dec. 10). Bidding will conclude Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 with a Twitter party from 9-11 PM, with final bids closing at 11pm.
  2. I will be posting photos of the works in progress throughout the Paint-a-thon to Twitter via Twitpic and to Facebook. Follow the hashtag #bztatptg on Twitter for the latest.
  3. Each painting will be approximately 12″ X 16″ on wood. There will be a $40 minimum bid on each painting. There will also be a $25 USA and $45 international shipping fee for each painting. Allow 2-4 weeks for shipping, as the painting will need hardware and other finishing before they can be shipped. (If you would like to bid on a painting to give as a gift, I will be happy to send a card with the painting’s image on it if the painting cannot be mailed before Christmas.)

This Paint-a-thon is to keep this artist in business. The holidays have been tight for me, so I cannot do this one for free. I will however, donate 10% of the proceeds to Cripple Creek Ferals and Friends in thanks for their support in rescuing my sweet little Okey. I will also put up a widget so that anyone who would like to make a donation to Cripple Creek can do so.

I hope that you will join me throughout the Paint-a-thon. I am open to suggestions for painting ideas! Leave your thoughts in the comments below.  Thanks in advance for your support.
