Today’s “Drawing a Day” – Cat in the City

For an artistic challenge, I am making a drawing every day in November. Each drawing will be placed for auction on here on my blog. These drawings will be fun images that will make nice gifts for the upcoming holidays. I have done “Drawing a Day” projects before, and they have been a lot of fun!

You can follow each day’s drawing by by subscribing to my my blog or by following my posts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Minimum bids will be low – you just might get a great artwork for a bargain!

Today’s drawing is a small drawing of a cat in the city drawn with Prismacolor Pencil and permanent marker on colored paper. I hope that you like it!

Colorful Cats Coloring Book – It’s almost here! In the meantime, I am auctioning one of the originals!

If you are on my mailing list, or you follow me in social media, you probably have heard that I am making a coloring book. It is a coloring book geared for adults. Although the imagery is family friendly, the designs are a bit too detailed for children to color.

The book is designed for adults to enjoy coloring as a relaxing and creative activity, and for people who enjoy my art. (You can read more about the genesis of the coloring book here.)

The drawings for the book are almost complete. There will be 25 black and white line drawings in all, including the one you see here, which I have colored myself.

In the next few days, I will begin taking pre-orders for the book. Stay tuned!

To prepare for the upcoming launch of the Colorful Cats Coloring Book, and to get you in the mood for coloring, I went ahead and colored this drawing myself. As a special treat, I am posting the original drawing for auction. You could own the artist’s own colored version, then buy the book and color the drawing for yourself. This is a one time collectible!

The original is smaller than the coloring page. It is 5″ X7″ and colored using Prismacolor Pencils and permanent markers, and it comes with an acid free mat ready for an 8″ x 10″ frame.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to a fundraiser for a friend whose bicycle was stolen so that she can purchase a new one.
