What? Again? Another Paint-a-thon?

Artist BZTAT

I know, I just did a paint-a-thon. I haven’t even gotten those paintings in the mail yet, because the weather has prevented me from varnishing them.

The Paint-a-thons have been so fun and popular, though, I decided to do another one for the holidays. This one won’t be for 24 hours. I think 12 hours is long enough.

So here’s the plan.

  1. I will paint as many paintings as I can between 10 AM to 10 PM (EST) on Thursday, Dec. 9.  All of the paintings will be posted for auction here on my website the following day (Friday, Dec. 10). Bidding will conclude Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 with a Twitter party from 9-11 PM, with final bids closing at 11pm.
  2. I will be posting photos of the works in progress throughout the Paint-a-thon to Twitter via Twitpic and to Facebook. Follow the hashtag #bztatptg on Twitter for the latest.
  3. Each painting will be approximately 12″ X 16″ on wood. There will be a $40 minimum bid on each painting. There will also be a $25 USA and $45 international shipping fee for each painting. Allow 2-4 weeks for shipping, as the painting will need hardware and other finishing before they can be shipped. (If you would like to bid on a painting to give as a gift, I will be happy to send a card with the painting’s image on it if the painting cannot be mailed before Christmas.)

This Paint-a-thon is to keep this artist in business. The holidays have been tight for me, so I cannot do this one for free. I will however, donate 10% of the proceeds to Cripple Creek Ferals and Friends in thanks for their support in rescuing my sweet little Okey. I will also put up a widget so that anyone who would like to make a donation to Cripple Creek can do so.

I hope that you will join me throughout the Paint-a-thon. I am open to suggestions for painting ideas! Leave your thoughts in the comments below.  Thanks in advance for your support.

Paint-A-Thon Auction is Live!

Pawtograph
"Pawtograph" Painting by BZTAT

I promised to have the auction live on Monday. I have had all sorts of technical difficulties that interfered with that plan, but all of the artworks are now available for bidding. Auction ends at 11 pm Thursday, 11/18/10. Bid away!

Half of the proceeds of my Paint-a-thon to the Healing Paws Dialogue, an art project that I will be doing for the Pet Patrol therapy pet program at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, OH. The Healing Paws Dialogue aims to involve artistic youth in Canton with the Pet Patrol pet therapy program in order to enhance understanding and awareness of the value of pet therapy, as well as give them an opportunity to create pet themed public art with a professional artist.

Using for three month. Pleased in general, but found out here that it may cause addiction. It actually helps me, but I don’t want to be using it all life long. Any advice on if you did feel any desire to return to eat after stopping the course?

The other half of the proceeds will go to a charity chosen by Embrace Pet Insurance staff: A New Leash On Life, specifically a fund for Flower who has pulmonic stenosis and needs a $2,500 balloon valvuloplasty surgery before she can be adopted out. Flower is being fostered by a member of the Embrace staff. You can donate to both projects below:

Going to the Dogs Paint-a-Thon

Cosmo Havanese

BarkWorld was one of those great events where I had the chance to meet online pals face to face.

Usually I am only able to talk to these folks through a computer. But when I get to meet them without a computer, it is hard to make myself spend time blogging about it while it is happening.

I will write about my latest adventure – BarkWorld Expo 2010 very soon. I especially want to write about the GMC Terrain that was provided to me as part of the GMC Bark-N-Ride. It was a great vehicle, and I am very grateful that I got a chance to drive one to Atlanta, GA for the BarkWorld Expo 2010.

Right now, however, I want to share the inspiration that I gained from the trip with you.

I saw lots of great dogs at the event, and afterward, I went to the Atlanta Folk Fest for my art “fix”.

I came back with so many creative ideas, I have decided to do a paint-a-thon to share some them with you.

On Thursday, August 26, 2010, I will engage in an exclusive “Paint-A-Thon”, painting animal themed artworks non-stop from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm in my studio at 336 4th St. NW, Canton, OH.

All works created in that 12 hours will be auctioned off in a silent auction online via Twitter Thursday, August 26, 2010.  Bidding on BZTAT artworks will begin at 9:00 pm EDT and conclude around 11:00 pm EDT.

Honestly, I am doing this so that I can keep the doors open at BZTAT Studios. It is costly to keep an artist studio operating. I will, however, give 10% of the sales to Romeo The Cat’s FurPower charity for this month, Second Chance Pet Adoptions.

Follow my tweets (hashtag #bztatptg) during the 12-hour stretch to watch the paintings develop. Then participate in the auction from 9 pm – 11pm EDT.
