I drew this image back in January of 2011 after the tragedy in Tucson, AZ where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Federal Judge John Roll, as well as others, were harmed in a brutal shooting.
The drawing is similar to other drawings that I have drawn in the aftermath of a tragedy. It symbolizes my need for resilience and hope when really bad things happen in our world.
I brought it out again today to express my pain, as well as my hope for peace, in light of yesterday’s tragic shooting in Aurora, CO.
I won’t go into the dialogue spinning in my head about the sociopolitical factors I believe are contributing to these reappearing tragedies.
Today, I feel, and I hope, and I’ll just leave it at that.
May you find peace in light of the pain felt around our country and our world today.
