May Minis – Auction Redux

I know, it is not May anymore. Still, I thought I would bring these May Mini drawings back for one more try. I posted them for auctions in May, and they received no bids, so I thought I would give folks one more chance in case they missed them earlier. I mean really. What am I going to do with them?

Old dogs and new tricks

"Old Great Dane" drawing by BZTAT
"Old Great Dane" drawing by BZTAT

We sometimes dream of living the life of simplicity that dogs seem to have. Play. Love. Sleep. Protect.

Yet dogs grow old, just as we do. As they age, they play less, love and sleep more, and protect in whatever way they are able.

I wonder…Do they lament the days gone by when they were more able to move their legs swiftly and bound about with joyful abandon?

Do they reach a point where they recognize there are more days behind them than there are ahead?

Or do they take each day, one at a time, and simply live with what they now have here in the present?

I suspect it is the latter. And I suspect that we could learn some new tricks from a dog’s simple approach to life.

May Mini – A Doxie Kind of Day

Dachshund Drawing by BZTAT
"A Doxie Kind of Day" drawing by BZTAT

I grew up with dachshunds, and despite their shrill bark that can be annoying, there is something very wonderful about these creatures. They are fun to draw, as they have such a unique shape and character. Days where you feel like being unique and fun are certainly doxie kind of days!

This a smaller drawing than I usually draw. It is approximately 3″ x 5″ and matted for a 5″ x 7″ frame. I decided for the month of May, I am going to draw some miniature drawings and post them for auction.
