I do not often draw or paint images of people. It really is not my thing. I prefer to leave that genre to people who really have a passion for drawing and painting the human figure.

I do, however, create images of children on occasion. I was a therapist for children for 20 years, and they have inspired the simple, colorful nature of my artwork.

Children have been very present in my mind lately as the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting has weighed heavily on me. I have written about that on my Okey’s Promise blog, and today’s drawing is a takeoff from an image I created for this particular article about the power of images.
